MuscleNerd Reported iOS 5 Jailbreak within a Day

Less than 5 days after DCI became available to developers, MuscleNerd has already jailbroken the iOS 5. The jailbreak has used the limera1n -operates with the first beta version of iOS 5, which became available to developers tonight. Limera1n focuses on the ( read-only ) bootrom the iPhone 3G, iPhone 4, third and fourth generation iPod touch , original iPad and the second generation Apple TV and tethered jailbreak is for this reason not Apple patching. What is striking is that the latest version of Cydia with iOS 5 also seems to work.

For an untethered jailbreak to run on iOS 5, the existing exploitable boot rom limera1n still be combined with a untether-exploit. Stefan Esser alias i0n1c which untether-IOS exploit for iOS 4.3.1 to 4.3.3, speculating that his untether-exploit still possible on the first beta of iOS 5 might work. The hacker will not be able to check because he is not a developer, since developers have to agree with terms that forbid jailbreak possible. The iPad 2 alone is not vulnerable to limera1n-operated and therefore not tethered to jailbreak on iOS 5. MuscleNerd warns users of a GSM or CDMA  iPad 2 therefore not to update to the beta 5 of iOS, as they potentially could use to make a iOS 4.3.3 jailbreak.
