iOS 5 new features are making it possible update the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad firmware over-the-air  without interference from the computer to activate the iDevice. There's even a screen in iOS 5 software updates . Earlier there were rumors that Apple over-the-air (OTA) updates would allow the new version of the iOS. But chronic @ wire , which was mentioned earlier today, now says that it is even possible that Apple wireless OTA updates would be forced.

Will Strafach Chronic Wire writes: "Some parts of iOS 5 Seem to hint That forced  OTA updates are Possible, although it is willing Unclear whether Apple will end up Using this." .

In an over-the-air update, you do not hundreds of megabytes to download new firmware to install.Apple announced at WWDC as part of PC Free. The wireless download updates of apps was already possible.
