The Chronic-Dev has finally removed a thorn from the foot by releasing yesterday Greenpois0n RC5 for obtaining a jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 untethered. Unfortunately only Macusers have previously enjoy. If you're running Windows, Greenpois0n RC5 should soon be available.
