The Dev Team has released the fourth beta of its software redsn0w 0.9.7. This allows you to have a jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 untethered through the 'Backup Plan' [have the SHSH iOS 4.2b3]. The beta 4 no longer requires that the process was to run a program for third usbmux.
However, concerns about the level of Bluetooth and Skype are always present. The next betawill be open to Windows users and correct the problems mentioned above.
Redsn0w 0.9.7b4 is available at this link , only on Mac. Read this tutorial for using redsn0w. Note that redsn0w is still in testing phase.
