iPhone Dev Team brings redsn0w 0.9.7 untethered jailbreak for IOS 4.2.1

The iPhone Dev Team has just released their "backup plan" for the untethered IOS 4.2.1 jailbreak released. They published a beta version of redsn0w, which you untethered iPhone 4, fourth-generation iPod touch and IPAD can jailbreak. This solution you will need access to the IOS ShSh and IPSW 4.2 beta 3. A solution that works with the Comex's 4.1 ShSh is likely to follow later. There is no Windows version of redsn0w 0.9.7b3 available.

Are you dependent on the ultrasn0w-unlock, then you should not use the new version of redsn0w. Even if you have a different device than the three listed above, you can not use new version of redsn0w. Be aware that it is a solution for beta testers, so there may be things wrong.

Read the instructions on the iPhone Dev Team blog. Do you doubt whether you have enough knowledge in order to perform the jailbreak: Read the following list of relevant articles and immerse yourself in the forum in the experiences of other users. Our advice: when in doubt do not! Make backups of SMS messages, photos and other content on your device that you definitely want to keep.

The iPhone Dev Team will after this jailbreak to work with the latest baseband unlock for the iPhone 4. This is expected to appear in mid January. Then all attention will be focused on the downgrading of the iPad baseband. This is used to unlock the latest iPhone 3GS and 3G.
