Foursquare Hits 5 Millions Users?

This tends to prove that the location-based services-oriented "social" remain largely the work of a coterie of geeks and early adopters who select the community with which they share (4S as it is called, is indeed closely linked to the "statusphère" and therefore very close encountered uses Twitter for example).
Fourquare announced in the same blog post that they moved to San Francisco and Silicon Valley.  Valley or another giant size means cutting their cruppers side of check-in and loyalty coupons offered by retailers reported their loyal visitors.

Early last week iwas reported that Foursquare had surpassed the five million user mark. Those reports were based on Foursquare having more than 5 million user IDs, not actual users though. Here’s what Foursquare told us about the matter:
“Though there are over 5 million user IDs in the foursquare community, our user IDs don’t necessarily match up to our actual number of user accounts. That said, we do expect to hit 5 million next week.”
