How to Fix Error 1015 After iOS 4.2.1 Jailbreak

Many people encounter error 1015 after jailbreaking their iPhone  iOS 4.2.1.While trying to restore the iPhone on iTunes. In this tutorial  you a way your way out of the iPhone error 1015.

Click OK> iTunes shows you it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode> click OK and close iTunes:

On your iPhone, you have the image of the USB cable to iTunes:

Step 1 to avoid the error 3194:
On Windows:
From the Start menu, locate Notepad> right click and select "Run as administrator"> Enter your administrator password. In Notepad, click File> Open> navigate to the folder C: \ Windows \ System32 \ drivers \ etc and select the Hosts file (If Notepad can not find your Hosts file, select "All Files" instead of "Files text (*. txt) ".

Notepad will open the Hosts file. In the Hosts file, add 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com at the end (if you already have an online gs.apple.com> delete it)> save the file and exit Notepad:

Mac OS X:
Launch Terminal> Enter the following command and press Enter:
sudo / Applications / TextEdit.app / Contents / MacOS / TextEdit / etc / hosts

Enter your administrator password if prompted.

The TextEdit application will open the Hosts file. In the Hosts file, add 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com at the end (if you already have an online gs.apple.com> delete it)> save the file and quit TextEdit:

Step 2:
Use Mozilla Firefox to download to your desktop:

• 1. redsn0w 0.9.6b5 for Windows
or
• 1. redsn0w 0.9.6b5 Mac
If you have an iPhone 3G:
• 2. Official iOS 4.2.1 iPhone 3G: iPhone1, 2_4.2.1_8C148_Restore.ipsw
• 3. You have a SIM card to activate the iPhone, download this customized firmware 4.1 for iPhone 3G: iPhone1, 2_4.1_8B117_activated.ipsw.
or
• 3. You do not have a SIM card to activate the iPhone, download this customized firmware 4.1 for iPhone 3G: iPhone1, 2_4.1_8B117_hacktivated.ipsw.
If you have an iPhone 3G:
• 2. IOS official 4.2.1 iPhone 3G: iPhone2, 1_4.2.1_8C148a_Restore.ipsw
• 3. You have a SIM card to activate the iPhone, download this customized firmware 4.1 for iPhone 3G: iPhone2, 1_4.1_8B117_activated.ipsw
or
• 3. You do not have a SIM card to activate the iPhone, download this customized firmware 4.1 for iPhone 3G: iPhone2, 1_4.1_8B117_hacktivated.ipsw

Step 3:
Unzip the file you downloaded redsn0w_xxx_0.9.6b5.zip in step 2 on your desktop.

Step 4:
Connect your iPhone to your computer> start redsn0w> click Browse> window appears:

If you have an iPhone 3G:
Select the 4.2.1 iOS Official iPhone 3G (iPhone1, 2_4.2.1_8C148_Restore.ipsw) downloaded to your desktop in step 2 and click Open.

If you have an iPhone 3G:
Select the 4.2.1 iOS Official iPhone 3G (iPhone2, 1_4.2.1_8C148a_Restore.ipsw) downloaded to your desktop in step 2 and click Open.

Step 5 (iPhone 3G only):
A window appears asking if you have the old bootrom / or new iBoot:

• Check your boot ROM / Windows iBoot
• Check your boot ROM / iBoot on Mac OS X

• Click Yes if you have the new boot ROM / iBoot.
• Click No if you have the old bootrom / iBoot

Step 6:
"IPSW Successfully identified" appears on redsn0w> click Next> wait while loading:

Step 7:
Just check the box "Just enter DFU mode right now pwned"

Check only the box "Just enter DFU mode right now pwned" is checked, then click Next.

Step 8:
Click Next:

Step 9:
redsn0w shows you the steps to enter DFU mode:

1. Press the Sleep / Wake button for 3 seconds
2. While holding the Sleep / Wake button, press the Home button (bottom) for 10 seconds
3. After 10 seconds, release the Sleep / Wake button but continue holding the Home button (bottom) for 15 seconds.
4. A progress bar appears on redsn0w> you can release the Home button (bottom).

If you succeeded, "Done"appears on redsn0w and you have a black screen on the iPhone. If this is not the case, an error message "Failed DFU Mode" displayed> click OK and repeat step 8 and 9.

If redsn0w hangs over the stage Waiting for reboot> disconnect and reconnect the iPhone to the computer. 

Step 10:
Click Finish to close redsn0w:

Step 11:
Launch iTunes that will show you it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode> click OK:

Step 12:
Hold down the Shift key (Windows) or Alt (on Mac OS X) and click Restore:

Step 13:
A window will appear (you can release the Shift key (Windows) or Alt (Mac OS X) key)> browse to your desktop and select the customized iOS 4.1 that you downloaded in step 2> click Select > click Restore.

Step 14:
Please wait while restoring> do not disconnect the iPhone from the computer and do not close iTunes:

Step 15:
After restoration, the iPhone will restart and appear on iTunes> click Restore from backup, then click Continue at the bottom right:

Wait for synchronization and recovery of your data in iTunes. Once synchronization is complete, you can again use your iPhone jailbroken on IOS 4.2.
